Steph Loves Stars!

No idea why…. I just do.  In fact, I have a pink star tattooed in the top centre of my back, just under my neck.  One of these days, I’m going to get around to adding more to that tat…. like some stargazer lillies.

And what’s that got to do with today’s project?  Nothing, really.  Just feeling chatty this Friday morning, I guess!

I made this wall piece last night… they’ve got 3 packs of 5×7 canvasses at the local dollarstore, so I usually load up on them when I’m there – it really takes the fear out of ‘ruining’ anything, when they’re that cheap!   I attached a piece of ledger paper (Wholey Sheet kit) with a nice, thick layer of Mod Podge – and then I sprinkled that with pink microbeads & superfine crystal glitter while it was wet.  I also smeared on some of that yummy irridescent medium on the top left & bottom right corners, for a little extra texture.  While that was drying, I broke out some dies (PTI Stars Trio, Rick Rack, XL Rick Rack) and Ouchless Cardboard – and more of that Folk Art Metallic Acrylic Paint (aka – my-favourite-paint-in-the-world).  The hot pink star represents me, the medium sized teal star is for my older daughter (6) and the small purple star is for my younger daughter (almost 2).  The black & silver rick rack pieces are there because I liked them.  And because I’m impatient, I blasted everything with the heat gun, which makes that irridescent medium bubble up and really adds some funky texture… and then I Mod Podge-d everything else down, tucking in some Punchinella here & there.

Have a great weeked, y’all!
Steph
