Chrissy’s Upcycled Shirt Canvas!

Hi Ho Gauchey girls ( and guys!)

Ngaire here..

I wanted to pop on and share this SUPER COOL reverse canvas that Chrissy made! How lush is it??

and guess what she made it from????

a shirt!

Chrissy's reverse canvas.

too cool for school.

get a load of the details!

Chrissy says: “I recycled one of my old shirts and mounted it to the back of a canvas. I wanted to use the wood framing and shadowbox effect the backside has. I glued the material with Mod Podge. “

beading details.. and teeny photos!

Once it was dried, she used Zip Dry Glue, tweezers, Blue Moon beads (and hand cramps, I would wager) to apply each of the glass seed beads.

LOVING that flower center!

“Finally”, says Chrissy, ” I decided to get in touch with my inner scrapbooker and used some teeny photos of my kids. The perfect backdrop was of course the awesome Punchinella. Some final touches came from a Purple People Eater Mixed Media color kit and some beads I had from a broken bracelet. The flower centers are by Prima.”

That ribbon is SO perfect!

and the end result is a feast of colour and design. Totally awesome! (and I am loving the shirt as background… upcycling all the way here at Gauche Alchemy. :)))
